Print A Document On An Mfc420cn Brother Printer When The Color Ink Is Out

Your Brother MFC-420CN printer is made to stop printing and display a mistake message once the color tubes exhaust ink. For those who have documents you'll need printed and do not always need any color ink, there's a method to override the error message and continue printing. The program installed together with your Brother printer allows you switch around the grayscale feature, which just uses ink in the black cartridge.

Instructions

1. Close the mistake message window if there's presently a note on screen warning the color ink tubes are empty. Navigate for your computer's Start menu and click on the Products and Ink jet printers icon. Right-click on the Brother MFC-420CN entry and choose Qualities.

2. Click on the Printing Preferences button at the end from the window and visit the tab labeled Advanced. Locate the colour / Grayscale heading presents itself your window.

3. Click on the radio button labeled Grayscale near the Color / Grayscale heading. Click Apply and Alright to switch on black and whitened printing.

4. Go back to the term processing program that contains your text document and click on File and Print to print the document without needing the colour cartridge.

Tips Alerts

If you work with Home windows Vista rather than Home windows 7, being able to access the printer preferences menu is performed in a different way. Connect to the Start menu and open the User Interface. Click Hardware and Seem, then click on the Ink jet printers link.
